Internet connection tips

What you should know when it comes to internet and LiveVoice.

Internet basics

LiveVoice simply works via the cloud, so you can use any internet connection: Wired, WiFi or cellular like 3G, 4G and 5G.

LiveVoice does not need much bandwidth, but you should have a stable connection, as data packages are sent in real time.

If you need to move as speaker (e.g. tour guides), a good mobile connection will be enough.
For events at venues (e.g. for interpreters or original audio) we recommend to use a wired connection.

If you have visitors from other countries, you might want to offer WiFi at your location. In case you use LiveVoice outside and want to provide WiFi, you can get mobile WiFi routers for a very affordable price like this one.

Bandwidth requirements

We have created LiveVoice in a way that it will use only very little bandwidth: 0,06 Mbits/s. This means, for example with a 10 Mbit connection, you can provide LiveVoice to about 150 listeners!

To test the speed of your internet connection, we have a speed test for you.

Please note: Most standard Wi-Fi routers have a limit of 250 devices that can be connected at the same time. But if you have expected more than 250 visitors at your event, we are sure your technical staff will offer more than one router anyway 😉
