ICF Church Zurich: Interpreting for hybrid services

Flexible and affordable interpreting solution instead of expensive hardware

The ICF (International Christian Fellowship) in Zurich, as an internationally oriented church community in Switzerland, is attended by people with a wide variety of languages. Interpreting is therefore a natural part offered by the church. However, analog systems are not only cumbersome, high-maintenance and expensive, they are also unusable for online church services.

Now that the services are offered in a hybrid way – that is, both on site and online – an additional challenge arose: How do you offer translation to both audiences at the same time? Since the livestream on YouTube has a delay of about 20 seconds, the image and translation would no longer fit together.

The solution: LiveVoice offers an audio delay option that can be used to create a second channel with an individual delay in addition to real-time streaming. The church can now offer both on-site visitors and those online a translation in sync.

With LiveVoice we finally found a solution that works! It's simple to use for translators and listeners, has many innovative features and their support is great.
